Obituary

Yvette T. Chasse, 81, of Arundel, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at the South Portland Nursing Center. She was born August 10, 1938 in Biddeford to Emile and Odella (Flemand) Bedard; She was the youngest of nine children from this union.

When Yvette was younger, she spent her time as a Certified Nursing Assistant where she provided private at home care, she would sometimes allow these people to spend their final years living with her so she could provide thorough 24-hour care.

On October 24, 1964 she married Floyd C. Chasse Sr. in St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Together they owned and operated the well renowned Chasse’s Organic Farm in Arundel, where they proudly served the surrounding communities and the Bush family of Kennebunkport. She was a well-loved staple in her community and spent most of her time outside in her garden. Yvette took the time to appreciate the small and magical things about the life and often praised the beauty and freedom of butterflies. This love of freedom and whimsy contributed to her vast collection of butterfly artifacts.

Yvette was predeceased by her husband, Floyd and six of her eight siblings.

Yvette is survived by her two children; Dolores Prescott of Concord, NH and her son, Floyd C. Chasse Jr. and his wife Ann of Chattanooga, TN.

Aside from her children she is survived by her sister Violet Thivierge, brother Leo Paul Bedard, a host of nieces and nephews, grandchildren: Bradley, Melanie and Vanessa Prescott, a great-grandson, Carson F. Cooper, as well as her best friend and adopted sister Jeanette Hanson and her husband Wayne of Arundel.

Services for Yvette are postponed but will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Biddeford.
