Phyllis Franck, 89, died at home on March 5, 2021 attended by her sister.
Phyllis was born in Van Buren, Maine on April 28, 1931; the daughter of Romain Rossignol and Victoria Sirois.
She is predeceased by her parents, 6 siblings, a son Brian, and her beloved husband, Roger Franck who died 15 months ago.
She leaves behind her daughter, Andrea Lariviere and her friend Kathy Lagasse from Manchester, N.H., a son, Matthew Franck and his wife Beth from Berlin, CT, two granddaughters, Nicole Lariviere and Chaela Franck, a great granddaughter, Adrianna Grace Boivert, and a sister, Charlene Rossignol.
She and Roger made their home in Van Buren where she worked at the Van Buren Hospital part time as a nurse’s aide and worked in the Van Buren school district for 8 years.
While there, she completed 3 ½ years of college majoring in early childhood education. Phyllis also worked for Aroostook Mental Health as a community support worker.
She thoroughly enjoyed her work and the people she worked for. Upon retiring from that work, she worked part time as an activity director for an Alzheimer’s group and also for Val’s Florist. Having much energy, she also helped part time at the Memory Box Gift Shop for her dear friend for many years, Irene Roy.
Phyllis had many interests and hobbies. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking, painting, crafts, etc. She enjoyed many retired years with her first sweetheart and love of her life, Roger, the last 18 years being in Saco.
She was a very independent woman who took great pride in being self-sufficient. She was also a devout Catholic and someone who helped many fostering their faith. Phyllis will be missed.
The family would like to thank all those who made her life better by allowing her to be able to stay home with their help.
There will be no visiting hours. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco on Wednesday, March 10 at 11:00 AM.
