Obituary

Paul Emile Faucher, 74, of Biddeford, Maine, passed away Sunday July 26, 2020 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He passed peacefully while surrounded by loved ones. Paul was born on May 26, 1946 in St. Zacherie, Canada as the son of Joesph Faucher and Albertine (Paquet) Faucher. He was the oldest of eleven children.

Paul was educated in Canada and left school after fifth grade to work in the woods to support his loving family, a sacrifice that most would never know. He was a hard worker his entire life. Paul and four of his siblings came to America in the late sixties to live and work. He spent many years doing Drywall working with various companies, many Canadians, and his brothers. He ended his working career after working for the City of Biddeford for multiple years. It was here that the people of Biddeford called him Frenchy and loved having conversations with him.

Paul was quite gregarious and had a love of all people. People liked him instantly with his vibrant and funny personality. He loved to go dancing with life long partner, Rita, at various clubs. He was a long time member of the Biddeford Eagles Club and the Biddeford Amvets Club. Paul was passionate with cooking and often shared his homemade pork pies with everyone. He attended La Kermesse Franco- Americaine Festival each and every year that it was held and was an avid volunteer at the event. Paul also enjoyed going to Old Orchard Beach to sit on a bench and speak French with the Canadian tourists.

Paul had great love in his heart for his family and would do anything for them. His biggest gift was his time and involvement in their lives. He would drop anything he was doing to do things such as give his grandchildren a ride from school. He also escorted his granddaughter Paige to the “Me and my Guy” dance through Girls Scouts. His dedication is unmatched by most.

Paul is survived by his lifelong partner of 39 years, Rita Hall, his daughter, Michelle (Hall) Lessard and son Brian Hall. His grandchildren include: Paige Lessard, Chase Lessard, Shane Holbrook, Brian Hall Jr., and Mikayla Archambeault. His Siblings include: Renald and Claire (Precourt) Faucher, Gaetan and Diana (Roy) Faucher, Nicole (Faucher) Belanger and Maurice, Andre and Micheline (Vachon) Faucher, Charlotte (Faucher) Chabot and Florian, Richard and Lise (Paquet) Faucher, Daniel Faucher and Caroline Boucher, Jean-Claude Faucher and Manon Landry,  Mario Faucher and Louiselle Maheux. He had several nieces and nephews.

Paul was pre-deceased by his parents and his sister Denise Faucher.
