Mrs. Marie A. LaBrecque, 94, of Saco, passed away Saturday, April 3rd, 2021 following an extended illness.
Marie was born March 16th, 1927 in Berlin, New Hampshire to Louis Brunelle and Lena Coullard Brunelle. She started her education in Island Pond, Vermont before graduating from St. Andre’s High School as a member of the class of 1946.
Marie married her husband Raymond LaBrecque on June 14th, 1952 at St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford.
Marie worked as a bookkeeper for Dearborn News in Biddeford. She later became a school bus driver for the Biddeford School Department for 5 years before starting her career as a deputy sheriff for the York County Sheriff’s Department and York County Superior Court before retiring in 1989. She was a member of Marie Revier Association in Biddeford, Pool (Marie Joseph Spiritual Center).
Marie enjoyed knitting. She particularly enjoyed knitting prayer shawls, making over 200. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and singing.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Lena Brunelle and her husband Raymond LaBrecque who passed away in April of 2009.
Marie is survived by her sons Marcel R. LaBrecque (Jackie) of Saco; Paul R. LaBrecque (Christine) of Biddeford; Marc R. LaBrecque (Lori) of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter Cecile Frechette of Las Vegas, Nevada. 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
