Obituary

On December 31st, 2020, we lost our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother to Alzheimer’s and the isolation away from family for the past nine months due to Coronavirus.

She died at St. Andres Nursing facility, with compassionate staff nearby.  She died peacefully while taking her morning nap.

Doris was born in Hartford, CT to Rose and Louis Faucher on June 23rd, 1932.  She moved to Biddeford and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School of Biddeford and graduated from Biddeford High School in 1950.  At the age of 16 she met the love of her life, Donald Plante of Biddeford and wed December 30th, 1950.

Together they raised 9 children and after retirement helped care for their youngest grandchildren: Justin Perron, Benjamin, Andrew and Nathan Plante.

Doris went to work at Pepperrell Mill/Biddeford Textile in 1962 as a weaver for nearly 30 years.

Doris loved playing the organ and accordion and had a beautiful voice.  Her life always revolved around her family and maintaining a comfortable home; a fun place to be for her children and grandchildren.  She and our Dad were happiest when we all gathered on Sundays and enjoyed the famous Daigneault Soup.

Doris was predeceased by her husband on December 29th, 2011, her parents, her brothers Mack, Bob, Raymond and sisters Pauline and Dorothy.

She is survived by one sister, Rose Marie.  Her children, Rose Marie Labrie and husband Fern of Biddeford; Patricia Lagnese and husband John of Biddeford; Teresa Little and husband Bruce of Saco; Shirley St. Ours and fiancé Bob Poirier of Naples; Lucille Smith and SO Larry of Standish; Dan Plante and SO Laura Minnini  of Biddeford, William Plante and SO Kelly of Biddeford; Donald Plante and wife Melissa of Biddeford; and Denise Reny and husband Jay of Saco.  Her 22 Grandchildren: Daniel, Cory, James, Tim, Melissa, Stacey, David, Ryan, Shauna, Graig, Lena, Ashlyn, Cassandra, Justin, Tyler, Benjamin, Andrew, Nathan, Devin, Grayson, Joseph, and Emily as well as 20 great grandchildren.
