Angelike (Gollaros) Pallas

July 20, 1936 ~ September 4, 2020 (age 84)

Obituary

Ms. Angelike Pallas, 84, of Biddeford, fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, September 4th, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born in Biddeford, Maine on July 20th, 1936 to Rev. Demetrios and Presvytera Mary Angorogiannis Gollaros. She was educated in Biddeford schools, graduating from Biddeford High School in 1955. She also attended Golden School of Beauty in Portland. Angelike was a skilled beautician for over 25 years and was respected and sought out by members of her community for the quality of her work. She married Charles Nicholas Pallas in 1958 and moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she had her two daughters.

Ms. Pallas was a devout member of the Greek Orthodox Church in Biddeford and Saco, Maine for many years. Her father was the founding priest of the Biddeford Greek Orthodox community and the entire family was active in the church, with Angelike teaching Sunday school for a number of years.

She had many joys in her life, most notably were Greek dancing, teaching belly dancing, traveling, driving, and cooking—but her greatest passion was her family. Her house was the homestead of the Greek community, where many a night there were games of dominoes, 45 records playing, and the smell of fresh lamb roasting. Her kitchen table was where people came to laugh, to cry, and to be loved.

Angelike is preceded in death by her father and mother, Rev. Demetrios and Presvytera Mary Gollaros; her sisters Katherine Caravasios, Fay Moody, Anna Gollaros, and Stella Trakas.

Ms. Pallas is survived by daughter and son-in-law Thymia and Dr. John Kazilionis of Portland; daughter and son-in-law Maria Simonetti and Dennis Dalton of Old Orchard Beach. Grandchildren; Alexis Simonetti of New York City and Christoforos Jordan of Old Orchard Beach. Niece; Marge Jariz and great nieces Faye (Jariz) Roy and Ana Provencher, and several great nieces and nephews of Saco.

The family wishes to thank the Beacon Hospice caregivers for their kind compassion and outstanding care.
