Obituary

Mr. Adrien A. Petit, 93, of Biddeford, passed away Wednesday, December 30th, 2020, at Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough.

Mr. Petit was born August 22nd, 1927 in Biddeford, Maine to Mr. Adelard J. Petit & Mrs. Agnes Caouette Petit. He was educated in Biddeford before serving in the Army Air Corps during WWII.

Adrien married Rita Michaud Petit in Biddeford on October 16, 1970.

Mr. Petit was employed for 43 years with SLC Maremont/Saco Defense retiring in 1985.

Mr. Petit was a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus in Old Orchard Beach, Biddeford AMVETS, Biddeford Eagles, Waterboro Eagle Charter member, former secretary of American Soft Ball Association, and Legion former secretary. He coached and managed several local softball teams. He served as vice president and president of local 406 (Textile Union) and was a member of the Saco Defense Social Club.

Mr. Petit is preceded in death by his wife Rita Michaud Petit; His former wife Leona Caron Petit Fulton; his sons Ronald Petit; Richard Petit; stepson Richard Huot; brothers Raymond R. Petit; Jerry Petit; sister Dorothy Baillargeon.

Mr. Petit is survived by his sons Robert Petit of Biddeford; Reginald Petit of Biddeford; Daughter Rena Lemelin of New Port Richey; FL; Stepsons Ronald Huot of Arundel; Robert Huot of Biddeford; sister Doris Laverriere of Biddeford; sister Gloria Nadeau of Turner. 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
