Kennebunk- Tommy Richard Stilphen, 19, died unexpectedly at his home on August 19th. He was born on December 23, 1998 in Denville, NJ to Meghan Herrick (Stilphen) and Eddie Stanley.
Tommy was educated through the Arundel school system graduating from Kennebunk High School.
He was a very caring young man with a big heart who had a passion for many things in life. Snowboarding, longboarding, music and racing. At the age of 6 he started racing go karts at Richmond Karting Speedway. He was a 5 time champion winner in that division. He then moved up to racing the modified series where he also became the champion. At the age of 14 he was the youngest person to be inducted into the Nascar Book for Oxford Speedway winning the Pro Stock, driving a super late model racing car. He was very talented in all he did.
He is survived by his mother Meghan Herrick (Stilphen) and her husband Michael Herrick of Wells, ME; his father Eddie Stanley of Connecticut; his four siblings Symphony Stilphen, Bobby and Annabelle Herrick of Wells, ME; Dickie Dola of Connecticut; his grandmother Starr Stilphen of Kennebunk, ME; his grandfather William Stilphen of Arundel, ME; his grandfather Craig Hutchins and his wife Roxanne Hutchins of Wells, ME; his grandmother Junnie Potter and her husband Judd Potter of Connecticut; his grandfather Thomas Stanley of Connecticut; and his many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Death takes the body. God takes the soul. Our minds hold the memories. Our hearts keep the love. Our faith lets us know we will meet again.
Service to be held at Hope Memorial Chapel in Biddeford on Saturday August 25th. Viewing will be from 3-5 with service to immediately follow.
