Sunday October 27th, in the loving company of his wife, children and grandchildren, Mr. Peter F. Judd, 80, a 20-year resident of Biddeford, passed peacefully following an extended illness.
Mr. Judd was born September 14th, 1939 in Waterbury CT. to Francis L. Judd and Vivian Swanson Judd.
Pete married the love of his life, Joy Zwiebel on December 17th, 1960. Together they enjoyed an abundant life which they happily shared with many friends who were drawn to their endearing spirit and acceptance.
Mr. Judd served his country with the National Guard and was actively involved in several organizations including the Masonic Lodge, Federal Lodge in Waterbury, CT, Scottish Rite, Order of the Eastern Star, International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Connecticut Auxiliary State Police, Mattatuck Drum Band where he proudly performed with his father Francis and son, Roy, and President of the Judd Family Reunion from 2007-2018. Most recently, Peter served the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kennebunk.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Judd of Biddeford, Maine; a son, Roy Judd (Dana Manning) of Sanford; daughters Jennifer Boislard (Michael) of Biddeford, and Karyn Stetson ( Frank) of Biddeford, Maine. Five grandchildren Daniel, Meggie, Robert, Lauren and Ethan. Three step-grandchildren Kyle (Amanda Hawes), James and Stephanie. He is predeceased by son-in-law, Larry J. Bowdish II.
In recent years Peter’s happiest moments came from watching his grandchildren grow and learn. He could usually be spotted on the sidelines at Daniel’s football games, or in attendance at Meggie and Lauren’s Rainbow events, Robert’s theatre productions, Ethan’s soccer games, and Kyle and Amanda’s wedding. Mr. Judd loved a good joke and laughed quickly and easily. He will long be remembered for appearing at one of his daughters’ wedding rehearsals sporting fake bad teeth and toting a shot gun.
