Norma Donovan, 99, of Saco and formerly of Biddeford, died Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Seal Rock Nursing Home. She was born March 3, 1918 in New York City, a daughter of Andrew and Emma (Nagy) Mader. She moved with her family to Massachusetts as a child and was educated there. She graduated from Merrimack High School in 1936 and later did her Nurses training at the former Trull Hospital in Biddeford.
On September 4, 1944, she married John Donovan at St. Mary’s Church.
She had been employed at the Trull and Webber Hospitals as well as Southern Maine Medical Center for most of her working life, taking time away to raise her family.
Norma retired from nursing in 1982. She enjoyed making latch hook rugs, baking, gardening, and doing puzzles. Family gatherings were always important to her.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John Donovan in 2008, her daughter Beverly Randall in 2012 and her siblings: Rosie, Andrew, James, John and Edward Mader and Helen LeClaire.

Visiting Hours will be 12 noon - 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
