Marie A. Jacques, 95, of Saco and formerly of Old Orchard Beach died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Seal Rock Health Care. She was born June 27, 1922 in Biddeford a daughter of Edouard and Arabella (Martineau) Goudreau and was educated in Biddeford Schools.
On December 27, 1941, she married Gerard F. Jacques at St. Joseph’s Church.
Marie had worked at Herman Shoe for several years but eventually retired to become the caretaker of many of her grandchildren.
She was a member of the AMVETS however, her life centered around her home and family. Everyone was welcome in her home, her door was always open. She loved baking and was famous for her chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and making puzzles.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Gerard F. Jacques Sr. in 1975; her sons, Norman G. and Dennis R. Jacques; her granddaughter, Sarah Boudreau; brothers, Alfred and Ernest Goudreau; sisters, Rose, Isabelle, Mathilda and Marie Ange and sons-in-law Richard Merrill and Phillip Firnhaber.

Visiting Hours will be 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
