Joseph E. Beaulieu

December 28, 1931 ~ August 5, 2018 (age 86)

Joseph E. Beaulieu, 86, of Lyman, died Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough.  He was born December 28, 1931 in Connor Township, ME a son of Paul and Elise (Parent) Beaulieu and was educated in Saco schools.  

Joseph served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict.  Among other decorations he received the Bronze Service Star, Purple Heart and bronze star medals.

On May 30, 1953, he married Carline Couture at St. Andre’s Church.

He had been employed at Pepperell Mfg. and later was a mason with local contractors.  He then worked as a mason at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.  Retiring from the Navy Yard, he and his wife spent many winters in Florida. 

He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting and golfing.


Preceding him in death were three brothers, Wallace in 1992, Gilbert in 2007 and Harvey in 2015 and one sister, Lorraine Kerrick, April 24, 2018.


Surviving are: his wife of 65 years, Carline Beaulieu of Lyman

4 daughters: Patricia Hickey and her husband Neil of Scarborough

          Susan Hutchinson and her partner Shawn Ingham of Kennebunk

          Nancy Wallace and her husband Robert of Greensboro, NC

          Karen Archambault and her husband Rene of Biddeford

1 son: Carl Beaulieu and his wife Shelly of Springvale

10 grandchildren: Chris & Joseph Small

Visiting Hours will 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005.   A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the Hope Chapel.  Burial will be in Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.  To share condolences online, please visit
