Jeannine L. Poissant

March 12, 1932 ~ June 9, 2019 (age 87)

Jeannine L. Poissant, 87, of Arundel and formerly of Biddeford, died Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the home of her son.  She was born March 12, 1932 in Biddeford a daughter of Emile and Laura (Bernier) Poirier and was educated locally, graduating from Biddeford High School.

 

On May 30, 1955 she married Leo Paul Poissant in St. Joseph’s Church.

 

She had been employed as the Biddeford City Clerk, as a CNA at the Trull Nursing Home, and at West Point Pepperell.

 

Jeannine enjoyed Bingo, dancing, country music and horseracing.  Especially dear was the time she spent with her grandchildren.

 

Preceding her in death were Leo Paul, her husband of 48 years, and children, Gary Poissant and Joanne Corbin.

 

She is survived by:

          5 sons:         David Poissant and wife Nancy of Biddeford

                               Carl Poissant and wife Sharon of Saco

                               James Poissant and wife Claire of Biddeford

                               John Poissant and significant other Lynne Paris of Arundel

                               William Poissant and wife Claire of Arundel

          6 daughters: Cathy Comeau of Springvale

                               Nancy Kinney of Arundel

                               Donna Lombard and husband Brian of Arundel

                               Paula McCallum and husband Gary of Saco

                               Marie Poissant of Springvale

                               Laurie Plante and husband Thomas of Saco

          2 brothers:   Donald Poirier and wife Madeleine of Waterboro

                               Normand Poirier and wife Connie of Arundel

          1 sister:        Priscilla Fecteau and husband Paul of Connecticut

         

          19  grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren

 

Visiting Hours will 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 14th at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford; burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
