Gerald P. Guay

October 3, 1938 ~ July 23, 2018 (age 79)

Gerald P. Guay, 79, of Dayton died Monday, July 23, 2018 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.  He was born October 3, 1938 to Raoul and Yvonne (Vaillancourt) Guay and was educated locally.

 

As a young man, he served in the Maine National Guard.  He owned and operated Gerry’s Mobil at Five Points until his retirement.

 

Gerry was a member of the Biddeford & Saco Elks Lodge, the St. Louis Alumni Association and the Knights of Columbus.   He enjoyed being a “gentleman farmer” and raising cattle.

 

Preceding him in death were:     his first wife, Sylvia (Roy) Guay on April 10,1987, his infant son Gregory P. Guay on June 18, 1966, and a sister Jacqueline Boucher on May 2014.

 

He is survived by Christine Guay, his wife of 30 years, of Dayton

Children:

          Lisa Marie Stewart and her husband Andrew of Phippsburg, ME

          Daniel R. Guay and his wife Diane of Kennebunk

          James F. Guay and his wife Linda of Alfred

          Regina N. Tuggle and her husband Clark of Arundel

          Sarah E. Guay of Dayton

5 sisters:      Anita Langevin

                     Claire Dubois

                     Reinette Labbe all of Biddeford

                     Carmen Dube and her husband George of Arundel

                     Nancy Brouillard and her husband Paul of Hollis

1 brother, Donald Guay of Biddeford

9 grandchildren:     Marie, Joshua, Michael, Stephanie, Kaeleigh, Garrison,

                               Jonathan, Sylvia and Evan

Visiting Hours will 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  To share condolences online, please visit www.HopeMemorial.com.  In lieu of flowers, Gerry’s family suggests donations in his memory to the Sam Cohen Center, 30 Barra Rd.  Biddeford, ME  04005.
