Frederick Lee Staples II, 56, of Scarborough, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 18, 2018 at his home. He was born May 17, 1961 in Lewiston a son of Arnold E. and Margaret Mary (Healy) Staples and was educated there. Fred received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maine, Orono and went to work with I.B.M. in Essex Junction, VT. He then studied at Quinnipiac University, receiving his Physician’s assistant degree.
He practiced in Randolph, VT at the Gifford Medical Center before coming to Maine and working at Southern Maine Health Care.
On August 22nd, 2017 he married Donna Larochelle Gelinas in Southport, Maine.
Fred had played baseball at UMO and had gone with the Black Bears to play in the College World Series. He enjoyed Reading, Sports, Watching Sci-fi movies with his sons, Woodworking and traveling with his wife.

Visiting Hours will be 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Hope Chapel.
