Doris (Turgeon) Lajeunesse, 87, of Westbrook, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2019. She was born on September 9, 1931 in Biddeford, the daughter of Arthur and Irene (Snyder) Turgeon.
Doris was educated locally and attended Thornton Academy, where she graduated in 1949. On July 2, 1955 Doris married Richard Lajeunesse at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. They went on to raise a daughter, Susan.
Doris worked as a shoe worker for many years, but was most proud of the work she did for 12 years at Maine Medical Center as a technician in the Central Supply Department, before retiring in 1993. Doris was a caring and dedicated mother and wife who loved spending time with her family. She was also an avid reader and traveler and loved taking road trips. Doris always looked forward to weekly family card games and was very competitive.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard, in 1998;
One brother, Ralph Turgeon.
Doris is survived by one daughter, Susan Brassard and her husband, William, of Westbrook;
One granddaughter, Kristine Brassard, of Saco;
Three sisters, Ann Lamontagne, Nancy Moulton, and Audrey Connolly;
Two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Turgeon.
Many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019, followed by a Funeral Service at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford following the service.
