Raymond O. Rousseau, 82, of Lake Alfred, FL and formerly of Biddeford died Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, FL after a long illness. He was born in Berlin, NH on May 29, 1929 a son of Louis Philippe and Maria Helena Marcotte Rousseau. He was educated in Biddeford schools and graduated from the former St. Louis High School with the class of 1947.

On July 3, 1948 he married Jeannette R. Langevin in St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford.

As a young man Raymond worked in the Men’s Department of JC Penney Department store in Biddeford. He worked a few years with Pepperell Mfg. Co in Biddeford and last worked 26 years with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. as a local agent retiring in 1984 due to ill health.

Raymond was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, a lifetime member of the St. Louis Alumni Association in Biddeford, a member of the Happy Rovers and a member of St. Matthew’s Church in Winter Haven, FL. He enjoyed playing poker & cribbage, camping and his personal computer.

He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Romeo Rousseau in 1980 and Gerard Rousseau in 2010.

2 sons: Donald M. Rousseau & his wife Linda of Biddeford
Roger N. Rousseau & his wife Debbie of Alfred

1 sister: Juliette Landry & her husband Paul of Lewiston

5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews

Visiting hours will be 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012 followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. Aunt Jeannette, Don and Roger, my deepest sympathy on Uncle Ray's passing. I am sorry I wont be able to make it to the funeral to convey my condolences in person. I will be planning a trip up to Maine sometime soon and hope that I can coordinate a time with you.
