Claire D. Hevey, 64, of Dayton died peacefully on May 19, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Portland on October 11, 1947, a daughter of Renald A. and Osithe P. F. (LaBranche) Rheault. She was a 1962 graduate St. Andre’s Elementary School and a 1966 graduate of Biddeford High School.
On May 10, 1969 she married Lionel R. Hevey. He predeceased her on June 12, 2004.
Claire started her career at Corning Components in Kennebunk and then went on to work as a housekeeper at St. Andre’s Health Care Facility for a few years before returning to Corning. She retired in 1988 due to ill health.
She had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Some of Claire’s’ greatest memories are of the cruise she took for her 25th anniversary.
Claire is survived by:
1 son: Kevin Hevey
2 granddaughters: Kaitlyn Bourgeault and her husband Joel
2 grandsons: Tyler and Noah Hevey
2 great-grandsons: Damien Croteau
Landon Bourgeault, all of Biddeford
3 sisters: Priscille Pinard and her husband Ralph of Hollis Center
Joan Roberts and her husband William of Biddeford
Diane Bergeron of Lebanon
1 sister-in-law: Judy Cadorette of Scarborough
1 brother-in-law: Andy Hevey of Orlando, FL

Visiting Hours will be 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, May, 21, 2012 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005.. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Claire’s memory may be made to: American Lung Association of New England, 460 Totten Pond Rd. Waltham, MA 02451.
I am so sorry i have lost my classmate. she was a very very goog friend to me. she will sady be missed. life is to short. i will put claire in my heart forever.shes in goog hands with god

I lost my best friend,but that is ok because I still have 2 best friends here,Joey and Pris!!! I will miss our Sunday rides and our ice cream. I would rather have you with Lionel,Mom and Dad and Nal then to watch you fighting for every breath you took. I will miss you more then you will ever know. I know you will watch over all of us. Claire - you are the best sister anyone could ever ask for. You have always been there for me no matter what. You fought a long and hard battle and now you are at peace with the love of your life Lionel. You will always have a special place in my heart.
