Lorraine Buckley Montpas, 87, of Biddeford died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at St. Andre’s Health Care Facility in Biddeford. She was born in Biddeford on March 31, 1924 the daughter of Jeremiah and Blanche Hubert Buckley. She attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Biddeford High School class of “1942”.

On June 21, 1948 she married Leo E. Montpas at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.
Mrs. Montpas worked at Saco Lowell as a government inspector, and for 28 years as a secretary in the credit department at Diamond International retiring in 1987.

She was an avid sports fan especially of the Biddeford High School Football team, and she never missed a Red Sox or Patriots game on t.v.

Mrs. Montpas was predeceased by her only daughter, Nancy Montpas Carroll who died May 26, 2006 and by Leo, her husband of 58 years November 6, 2006 .

Surviving are:

2 granddaughters:

Michelle Carroll of Cape Elizabeth
Melissa Parquette and her husband Andrew of Saco
Also great-grandchildren Abigail Marks and Aidan Marks of Cape Elizabeth and Mackensie Parquette of Saco
and several dear nieces and nephews.


Visiting Hours will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thurday, March 15, 2012 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Anne’s Chapel of St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford. Lorraine was my first cousin. I loved her, Leo and your Mom dearly. I am sorry to be so far away or i would be there. last summer I did get to see her and made her smile. She was so proud of you both. please if you could let me know where she lies I will visit her this summer. My sincere regrets.
