Dennis P. Horan, 67, of North Waterboro died Friday November 11, 2011 at his home. He was born September 22, 1944 in Providence, RI a son of Edward J. and Gladys E. (King) Horan. He went to school in Georgiaville, RI and as a young man he worked on his family’s farm.

In May of 1981 he moved to Dexter, ME and went to work for Dexter Shoe where he was employed for many years. In October of 1981 he married Irene Bonenfant. Returning to Rhode Island in 1996 he was employed with General Cable, retiring in 2008 at which time he and his wife returned to Maine.

As a younger man he had enjoyed hunting, and he was an avid fisherman for most of his life. He loved spending time with his family; there was a VERY special place in his heart for his grandchildren.

Dennis was pre-deceased by his parents and two brothers.

He is survived by:
his wife of 30 years, Irene Horan of N. Waterboro
a son, Kerry Bumpus and his wife Kathleen of Tewksbury, MA
a daughter, Lisa Jalbert and her husband Paul of N. Waterboro
and 6 grandchildren: Ethan, Connor, Alexa, Taylor, Patrick and Michaela

Dennis was always quick with a smile and a laugh. He always lit up when talking about the grandchildren. He was very proud of his family.
