Sylvia U. Lausier, 62, of Biddeford died Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born September 21, 1954 in Munster, Germany, a daughter of Rudolph and Eva (Hofbauer) Linke and was educated there.
On September 14, 1982 she married Richard Lausier at 18 Jackson St, Van Buren, ME. They resided in Van Buren where she completed her high school education. She and her husband came to the Biddeford area in 1990.
Sylvia had been employed in the Wal-Mart stores in Biddeford and Scarborough, and the Mardens store in Scarborough. She then worked for At-Work flagging company out of Westbrook. Her last place of employment was the Big Apple in Arundel.
She loved working with her hands: making jewelry, doll clothing and needlepoint. Her gifts of these items were from her heart and were cherished by those who received them.

Her sister, Helga Linke of Germany
Mother-in-law and father-in-law Camille and Corine Lausier of Van Buren
There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26th at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005.
