Susan C. Cote, 68, of Biddeford, died Saturday. April 15, 2017 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born August 20, 1948 in Biddeford, a daughter of Simeon J. and Muriel (Roy) Fontaine. She was educated locally at Notre Dame School and was a graduate of St. Andre’s High School.
On June, 20, 1970, she married Raymond N. Cote at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Saco.
Mrs. Cote had been employed at Ray’s Market as a young woman. She worked with Shape Inc. for 20 years and for a few years at the Journal Tribune in the Circulation Department. She had most recently returned to work at Ray’s Market and retired from there in July of 2016 due to illness.
Susan enjoyed reading, camping, spending time with her grandchildren and watching the Red Sox. In her later years, she had also acquired an interest in playing the slot machines and enjoyed frequent trips to the Foxwood and Oxford Casinos.
Preceding her in death was her mother, Muriel Fontaine in 2010.

Visiting Hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19 2017 at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford. Susan’s family wished to thank the staffs of Maine Center for Cancer Medicine in Scarborough and the Gibson Pavilion at Maine Medical Center for the kindness and care given to Susan over the last several months.
