Rev. Bernard Arthur Elliott, 88, of East Waterboro died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Southern Maine Healthcare in Biddeford. He was born on September 17, 1928 to Arthur James and Mabel (Higgens) Elliott in Freedom, ME. He graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School, class of 1946.
He proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines for one year and the Navy for five years. When he returned home from the Navy he attended the Zion Bible Institute in Rhode Island and was the Vice President and valedictorian of his class.
On April 11, 1951 he married Evelyn Presby at the Methodist Church in Old Orchard Beach.
Rev. Elliott devoted his life to the service of others. He opened a Bible College in Auburn, ME and pastored seven churches. He was a kind, thoughtful and pleasant man who loved God and his family.
He is preceded in death by 2 sons, David B. and Thomas H. Elliott.

Visiting Hours will be 6 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Hillside Chapel, 1237 Alfred Rd., Arundel, ME 04046. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday at Hillside Chapel in Arundel. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco. In lieu of flowers donations in Bernard’s name may be made to the Arundel Food Pantry, PO Box 750, Biddeford, ME 04005.
