Raynald L. Goulet

April 11, 1926 ~ November 26, 2017 (age 91)

Raynald L Goulet, age 91, passed into eternal peace and the loving arms of our Lord on Sunday November 26, 2017. Ray, “Goo-goo” to friends, “Pepere” to family, was born on April 11, 1926 to Albertine and Adelard Goulet in Biddeford, Maine. He was the 3rd youngest in a family of 8 children which included Sisters Germaine, Jeannette, Rolande, Cecile, Marie, Paulette, and Brother Ben. Ray left high school to serve in the Marine Corps 3rd Division during WWII which included service in the Pacific, on both Iwo Jima and Guam and to his last day if asked he was incredibly proud to be a Marine.

Ray was married to Jacqueline S Soucy in 1947, a marriage of 70 years, and having two sons, Steven and Brad. His work career spanned over 40 years at the West Point Pepperell Manufacturing Company starting near the bottom and working his way up to the Senior Manager a position he held until his retirement. Ray was a people person, he would remember not just your name, but your wife’s and children’s names, and many details about your life. He always had time to stop and talk and always with a compassionate ear.

Ray served many years on the City of Biddeford’s School Board and later as a Fire Commissioner. He was also a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

For all who new him, what Ray was most proud of was his family. He spent countless hours doting on us, never missing a sporting event or 1st day of school for his children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. He rocked babies, diapered babies, drove on 1st dates, and shared his joy and love in every moment we were with him.

Ray is survived by his wife Jackie, Sons Steven and Brad, Daughter-in-Law Diane, Grandchildren Morgan Goulet & Spouse Kaye, Catherine Justin & Spouse Chris, Danielle Williams, Candace Laliberte & Spouse John Laliberte, Nine Great-Grandchildren, Hunter, Ashley, Chloe, and Hudson Goulet, Luke, Richie, and Michael Williams, and Aida and Henry Laliberte. He is also survived by 3 sisters Rolande, Paulette and Marie. Besides his parents and siblings Ray was welcomed into the loving arms of his Grandson Michael Goulet and Grandson-in-Law Richard Williams both who left us way too soon.

Ray had a heart and soul larger than life he will be sorely missed and quoting his words from every parting we Love You Dad, Pep, Goo-goo, Bigger than the Sky, the Moon, and the Stars.
