Monique J. Parenteau, 78, of Old Orchard Beach died on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough. She was born on February 9, 1938 to Oscar and Yvonne (LeBlanc) Huard in Biddeford. She graduated from St. Andre’s High School, class of 1956.
On July 6, 1957, she married Raymond Cantara at St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford. They shared 26 years together until his death on December 4, 1983.
On December 28, 1985, she married Jean Paul R. Parenteau at Notre Dam de Lourdes Church in Saco. They shared 30 years together until his death on October 29, 2015.
She worked for several years with Pepperell Mfg Co. in Biddeford, Fairchild Semiconductor in South Portland and Saco Tanning Corp in Saco. She had owned and operated Mr. Sandwich in Old Orchard Beach for four years. Lastly working for eight years with Marshall’s in South Portland before retiring in 1997. After retiring both Paul and Monique spent 16 years snowbirding in Florida where they enjoyed various Club activities such as shuffleboard and playing cards. During that time they volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House in Florida.

8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Josephs Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
