Louise Laverriere, 87, of Biddeford, died Friday, April 6, 2018 at the home of her daughter. She was born June 21, 1930 in St. Come, de Beauce, Canada a daughter of Jean and Alice (Aubin) Roberge and was educated there and in Biddeford.
Her family emigrated from Canada to Biddeford, Maine 1941.
She was married to Armand Laverriere on May 7, 1955 at St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford. Together they raised six children. As her children were grown, she worked at St. Andre’s Nursing Home and later at St. Andre’s Group Home.
Louise was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post One, AMVETS. She was a member of the Biddeford-Saco Elks and had recently received the Distinguished Lady of the Year award from the Elks. She was a faithful member of the Good Shepherd Parish for most of her life.
She was predeceased by her husband Armand in 1982, and by 2 sisters, Henrietta Perigny of CT in 1986 and Suzanne Bolduc of ME in 2014, and her grandson Joshua in 2016.
Louise is survived by her six children: Marie Laverriere of Biddeford, Carol Laverriere of Windham with her significant other Mike Waters, JoAnn Wright of New Mexico with her husband Gary Wright, DeeDee Zaitlin of Saco with her husband David Zaitlin, Donald Laverriere of Texas and Rachel Bisson of Biddeford with her husband Marc Bisson. Also surviving are a sister, Frances Allen of OOB and a brother, Jean M. Roberge from Bow, NH, 8 grandchildren: Jenica, Christiana, James, Meghan, Michelle, Beth, Marc, and Mindy and 13 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
