Joyce K. Finley

November 2, 1930 ~ August 11, 2017 (age 86)

Joyce K. Finley, formerly of Framingham, Massachusetts, returned to her heavenly home on August 11, 2017 at home following a period of declining health.  She was 86 years old.  Joyce was born on November 2. 1930, the daughter of Carl and Leila Kimbell in Philadelphia, PA.

 After high school Joyce attended the University of South Carolina where she received a bachelors  degree in business.  Joyce also attended Harvard University where she received numerous certificates in computer science. She began work for Digital Equipment Corp. shortly after college where she worked for many years until her retirement.

Joyce was an ambitious lady who had many interests outside of work.  She was an active member of the Trinitarian Church of Wayland, Massachusetts.  Her desire to serve the Lord was always front and center.  She witnessed and opened her home to many whenever the opportunity presented itself.  Joyce was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  She was a member of the Yankee Golden Retriever Club and a breeder of Golden Retrievers for more than 30 years.  Joyce loved her home on Lake Cochituate and was on the lake committee for many years.   She enjoyed many adventures in her 86 years from extensive travel both home and abroad, modeling, helicopter skiing to scuba diving at age 70 to name a few. 

Joyce is survived by her daughter Heather, her sons Scott and Keith Finley; daughter in law Charlettia Finley;  her grandsons Nathan and Craig Finley; her sister Carol Walhig; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Folwell; her sister Evelyn Binter; and her parents Carl   and Leila Kimbell.

A memorial service will take place on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 2:00pm at Trinitarian Church, 53 Cochituate Road, Wayland, Massachusetts 01778, with a reception immediately following.
