Jean L. Beauchemin, 91, of Saco died Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the Monarch Center in Saco. He was born on December 20, 1925 to Charles E. and Diana (Dubois) Beauchemin in Biddeford.
On November 15, 1947, he married Solange Bellefeuille at St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford.
He enlisted in the United States Navy and served during WWII. When he returned home, he completed high school at St. Louis High School in Biddeford. Upon graduating he went to Saco Lowell as an apprentice machinist. He worked for Baker Refrigeration in S. Windham for a bit before the Navy recalled him into active duty for the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home again, he went to the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the LST Association and the NARFE. Pépère, as his grandchildren called him, loved spending time with them. He also enjoyed driving, skiing and boating.

His son, Jay Beauchemin and his wife Judy of Saco
His sister Jacqueline Goodwin
And two grandchildren
