Gabrielle P. Cyr, 91, of Saco died Friday, September 15, 2017 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. She was born April 18, 1926 in Saco daughter of François and Philomene (Laflamme) Cote and was educated in Biddeford at St. Andre’s School.
On June 21, 1947, she married George Leo Cyr in St. Joseph’s Church, Biddeford. They lived in Waltham, Massachusetts for 25 years, from 1957 until 1982. There she was employed as a receiving inspector with the sewing machine manufacturer, Reece Corporation. Returning to Maine, she worked five years with the Pepperell Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1987.
Gabrielle was a cat fancier; she was an expert seamstress and enjoyed gardening.
She was preceded in death by George Leo Cyr, her husband of 49 years, in 1996.
Gabrielle is survived by a daughter, Linda Robertson and her husband David of Bass Harbor, Maine; and two nephews, Conrad and Richard Huot of Biddeford.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday September 19th at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in South Portland at a later date.
