Chuck A. Hale, 67, of Saco, passed away peacefully Friday, July 21, 2017 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born July 26, 1949 in Portland, the oldest son of Charles A. and Shirley (Adams) Hale.
Chuck graduated from Portland High School and moved to Boston where he worked for Jordan Marsh before going into the restaurant business. Chuck moved back to Maine where he unselfishly stepped into the role of Dad to his beloved nephews. At the same time, he managed the Dune Grass Country Club Restaurant.
Chuck was a fiercely independent, generous and compassionate man who did not tolerate prejudice; he was always willing to sacrifice for anyone in need. He will be remembered for his dry, witty sense of humor.
Chuck resided at the Paul Hazleton House; he was active in many of their events and will be sadly missed by all his friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert Hale and sisters Shirley Forsythe and Patty Ann Hale.
He is survived by:
